The Number One Cause of Death in America

Do you know the number one cause of death in America? You might guess heart disease and according to the National Center for Health Statistics, you would be right. But you would be wrong. You might guess cancer. Sure enough, cancer will take more than a half-million lives this year. Accidents rank fifth at just more than one hundred thousand each year.
The number one cause of death in America is murder. Surprised? Americans murder more than a million babies every year. Estimates are we murder about three thousand, seven hundred every day. In other words, nearly as many humans die in the womb every single day as American soldiers have died in the entire Iraq war. Let me say that again: 3,800 American soldiers have died in Iraq in four years of fighting, but 3,700 unborn children die every day back at home.
This subject is bad enough, but it gets worse. Do you know why those children die? 93% die because they are an inconvenience to their mother. Do you know which mothers are aborting their children? 60% are white and 38% are middle class. America is bad, but the rest of the world is even worse. World-wide, the average is every single woman on the planet will have one abortion.
This is horrible, so why am I writing this? Because I wonder why we think we can ask God to bless us as a country when we are stomping on the Sixth Commandment and up to our necks in an all-out slaughter of innocents. Do we really think God is pleased with us? Do we really think we can get away with this?

abortion is not murder, just like you are not an authority on the subject. abortion is a private matter of personal choice, and unless you're directly involved, that choice is none of your business. pro-choice means freedom to choose. do not think to impose your will upon others by assuming some bogus mantle of authority.

Seriously? You really think so? Well I'm not for abortion at all, but, at the same time who are we to prohibit someone else from making that choice since it is their body

and sure we can get away with it because, it's not really getting away with it... plus christianity is just a huge cult and your God is just a scape goat seriously, something bad happens you find your self saying "ohh dear God why me", or your praying for something good "please God help me get this job or this new home" when in reality God does not determine whether you die or not it's called life and it's up to you and others around you!

Even God is pro-choice, other wise he would not have given us a choice.

God also gave us the choice to kill
each other, while not in the womb, that most certainly doesn't mean he is for it....but I bet you don't find that exceptable?

Just because God have us a will does not mean he's pro-abortion (which is exactly what pro-choice is, lets call it what it is, okay). I believe reading you're comment may have dropped my IQ a few points. Wow, America's ignorance never fails to amaze me.

You mention the soldiers in Iraq. Are they not breaking the 6th commandment by killing other human beings. Why are you ignoring this issue and focusing on another. You should denounce the government in which you live if you are a true christian, as they are supporting the mass killing of thousands of Iraqis and Afghanis.

hm. well i seem to believe that abortion is murder because someone decided not to let someone live...doesn't matter if they were raped no one has a right to take away life as the Constitution does state, "...Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness." notice they said life not maybe life.

You all are right for the most part. Abortion is murder, and it is your choice. And we are killing innocents in our imperialism of the world, often times illegally and outside of the international laws of war...and it should be addressed. Jesus is not pro militaristic imperialism. He is pro love and peace. And he did not come with a sword, but the Bible says he will one day. Many forms of Christianity are cults, but that does not mean that the historic events of the past (and even testimonies of the present) about God and other powerful spirits are not true - every culture on earth is founded on their interactions with "the gods." These were real events, and worthy of consideration. And every major culture on earth believes that there are real consequences for your choices. Choosing to end the life of a baby is a big deal. Thank you Craig for writing this blog. It was interesting to read all the statistics.
