Voddie Baucham on the Problem of Evil

Have you ever heard Voddie? (rhymes with Odie) This guy rocks! He spoke at a couple of Pineywoods Youth Camps when I was the Director and I've always loved him. Check this out - it's only 5 minutes, but it is a powerful 5 minutes!

Only God Knows...

The weatherman wasn’t giving much hope for relief from the heat. Triple-digit temperatures one day after the other as far ahead as the forecast extended. Not just hot, but dry too. No rain in sight. It was discouraging. The grass outside was brown and dead.
I looked over at my wife and said, “Well, they aren’t in charge of the weather, God is, and he may have something else in mind.”
Twenty-four hours later I was sitting outside listening to big drops of rain pound the patio’s metal roof. The temperature dropped to the mid-seventies. It was isolated and only lasted twenty minutes or so, but it was a complete, and welcomed, surprise.
I was glad I had said that God is in charge and not man when it comes to the weather, but I wasn’t even sure I believed it when I said it. I believe it now, though. God works within the framework of nature he created -- so it’s not going to snow this week -- at least I can write that with relative assurance, but it did snow last year on the day before Easter and that wasn’t predicted either. This year, it snowed in early March. Again, a surprise.
The bottom line? When you need rain, pray for it. When you long for cooler temperatures, tell God. He just may surprise you. The weathermen (and women) are doing their best to predict what‘s going to happen, but this is God’s world and He’s the one in charge of it.
